The Second World War around Brussels

This program will allow your pupils to understand the origins of the conflict and to imagine the living conditions at that time in Brussels and its surroundings. You will relive this dark period by visiting the places which made history of the country such as the Kazerne Dossin and the Breendonck Memorial. These historic places immortalize for ever our duty of remember.

The tour takes you also to the European Parliament, at the heart of the European construction which is a direct consequence of the end of the war to make conflicts impossible.

On the map

Day 1 - Brussels and WWII

Arrival in Brussels and guided tour of the city about the Second World War. You will discover the Belgian capital from the German occupation until the liberation of the city.

Day 2 - Kazerne Dossin and Breendonk Memorial

The morning, a guided tour of the Memorial on Holocaust and Human Rights, Kazerne Dossin will be organized. The museum deals with the persecution of Jews and gypsies in Belgium during the Second World War.

The afternoon will be dedicated to a guided tour of the Fort Breendonk Memorial, a very well preserved Nazi camps in Europe. Then, free time in Mechelen.

Day 3 - European Parliament

Haeding back towards Brussels to visit the Parlamentarium, a visitors center which will explain you everything you need to know about the European Parliament.
