Sant’Anna di Stazzema
On 12 August 1944, in the village, about 560 (130 children) civilians were executed by the German occupation forces. This historic fact inspired Spike Lee’s film “The Miracle of St Anne” released in 2008.

Visit the areas of the Nazi bloodshed, the church, the square, the Historic Museum of the Resistance and the Park of Peace.
In the National Park of Peace, stands a Monument-Ossuary that holds the remains of the executed civilians of Sant’Anna of Stazzema. The monument was created by Tito Salvatori in 1948. The Historic Museum of the Resistance has ample documentation that attests to the tragic event in the form of films, and both written and photographic records.
