The Second World War in Luxembourg

This program will allow your pupils to understand the WWII conflict in Luxembourg with its own specificities. Theatre of the Battle of the Bulge, the Luxembourg Ardennes, as the Belgian ones, has many very powerful sites relaled to the war. The Military History Museum in Diekirch has one of the largest collection related to this episode.

The American Cemetery near Luxembourg city is also a poignant reminder of the atrocities of the war. General Patton is buried among is soldiers in this cemetery.

Day 1

Arrival at Luxembourg-City and visit of Luxembourg City Museum of History, set in the heart of the old town. Thanks to an original scenography, you will discover the History of this city.

Day 2

The morning, World War II walking tour in Luxembourg-City to discover the remembrance sites of the city.

Then, guided visit of Luxembourg American Cemetery, the final resting place of many 101st paratroopers as well as General Patton. The afternoon, visit the General Patton Museum  with photographs, documents and weapons witnessing the German invasion in may 10, 1940.
