The Resistance Museum Amsterdam was founded in 1984, after which it moved to the Plantage neighbourhood in the building Plancius in 1999. Because of this, its location is not only near the place where the attack on the Amsterdam population register was committed, but also where the Jewish deportations via the Hollansche Schouwburg in 1943 took place. In the Resistance Museum permanent and temporarily expositions can be seen. Through authentic objects, photos and documents, film and sound fragments the stories of people in wartime are told. The exhibition covers all forms of resistance, including strikes, the forging of documents, helping people to go into hiding and armed resistance. Especially for children there is the Resistance Museum Junior.
