Horst Rimkus (26 April 1926 - 10 August 1944), was killed in action in Normandy at the young age of eighteen years.
Horst Rimkus was born in Tilsit on 5 April 1926. In autumn 1943, he was drafted as a SS-tank-grenadier and sent to France. He was killed there during the Allied invasion.
According to the senior field doctor in charge, Rimkus succumbed to severe chest wounds in the Bernay military hospital on 10 August 1944. The following day, he was buried in St. Desir de Lisieux. He was reburied in 1957, and since then rests in the war cemetery in La Cambe. The final grave location is in block 18 grave 58.
