'Information point 'Battle of Arnhem'

In the 'Battle of Arnhem' Information Point, 52 witnesses relate in images, sound and text what they saw, heard and experienced during the terrible days of September 1944. Some of them are still alive, others did not survive the fighting. Their stories, nevertheless, also bear witness to the Battle of Arnhem, which was a traumatic experience for all those involved.

The battle of Arnhem was a brief but fierce struggle between the Allies and the German occupying forces. Over the course of just a few days, dozens of civilians lost their homes, family members, or their own lives. Thousands of soldiers, both Allied and German, were killed, seriously wounded or taken prisoner. After that brief but fearsome hell on earth, Arnhem had been transformed into a ghost city, with almost every living being evacuated. The Information Point is operated by the Airborne Museum 'Hartenstein'.
